The meeting was called to order at 1:13 CDT.
Clarion West's news release about receiving the check from ReadAssist as the beginning of a special fund was mentioned, and Boyes's great effort was acknowledged.
ReadAssist needs a way of raising funds. While two auctions have been held on the West Coast in the last year, they did not supply much in the way of funds. Should ReadAssist try more auctions? T-shirts?
Boyes suggested helping Clarion (a separate organization from Clarion West), and Wen Spencer's teenage writer's group.
Mayerle pointed out low funds, stating that he is leery of overcommitment.
Lasker agreed with Mayerle: Fundraising is the name of the game.
Kirby suggested getting authors to assist (donating red-shirts for auctions), and mentioned that many red-shirts would pay for T-shirts bearing "I died for an author's fun and profit."
The ReadAssist website contains a note about donations being acceptable, with the address donations can be mailed to. Publicizing the website needs to be done. Conventions to be targeted include Norwescon and Loscon.
Boyes stated that ReadAssist needs to have a person in charge of raising funds, register as 501c3, and then raise funds. Lasker suggested a committee headed by a board member or two. Boyes suggested advertising, in newsgroups and at rasfw, for someone to deal with fundraising: "no salary, great satisfaction." Kirby suggested asking Flint to become author liaision.
Lasker portioned out tasks:
Meeting adjourned at 2:10 CDT.

A number of links were added to the website last month.
Some of the websites linking to ReadAssist.org had descriptions that were not quite representative of the site; these were asked to change their descriptions, and did so.
Cedeno is researching guestbook programs for use by visitors to ReadAssist.org.
The current list of links for consideration includes a number of Russian sites in Russian, several Spanish and South American sites in Spanish, and one in Chinese -- many of which do not have English-language versions. I'm still looking for translators to help with checking these sites out and coming up with a description of them before they can be added.
No Dealers Room report has yet been received from nearly all the ReadAssist Agents who have been charged with providing URLs of book dealers for inclusion on the webpage. I plan to check with the Agents soon.\

Bookmarks were available at TorCon (WorldCon). No report back from the ReadAssist Agent, though.
Nothing done in re buttons; maybe later this month.
