The following members were present in the ReadAssist Chatroom:
Mayerle asked if J. Dorsett had anything to report. J. Dorsett stated that he will update the Finance page of the website.>
J. Dorsett suggested a "how-to" page, to enable persons who download ebooks to their computers to listen to those books, as most tech stuff comes with few, or even no, instructions. Questions: How many of the different hardware and software systems would have to be included? Who could supply the information?
J. Dorsett offered an alternate: set up a blog where questions could be asked and tech experts called on. This blog would be mentioned by others, and ReadAssist's website would have a link to it.
Lasker moved that someone (Jody?) get information on setting up a blog and links necessary to feed back into RA to get to the help file (yet to be written). C. Dorsett seconded the motion. The motion passed, with one abstention (reason for the abstention: Poggiani does not understand this).
J. Dorsett said that he would get the information this week.
Poggiani was thrown out of AIM and the chatroom by her computer and IE, and therefore was unable to save a transcript of the first half of this meeting. Mayerle asked if anyone could send her one; C. Dorsett said that she would.
The next meeting is scheduled for July 7.

No report was filed, but some news was forwarded. Correspondence is given below.

I received a check for $520.00 from Constellation 2006.

Excellent!! So, who signs the thank you note or do we get the whole board to? Do we have any current situations that could use that money?

Thank you note: Letter from Janet on our behalf and a note on the webpage?
My thought is that now that there is some room for operating expenses to put $1,000.00 in a 3 mos or 6 mos CD. Won't get much interest but it will be more than what we get now (which is nothing) and will not cost us since there is no minimum ledger balance required in the account.

The website was updated earlier this month, with many new links. Even earlier, the Contact page was re-done, with a button for donations by PayPal and language about SFPL and the pending application for 501(c)3 status.
New text is still needed for updating of the Finances page.

Responses to emails are up to date. The inquiries have been tucked away in the proper folders.
Several people have volunteered for whatever they can do (no specifics, just "let me help"). I have thanked them, said we have nothing really planned, but we'll keep their names and email addresses on file. Ideas?
Some people seem to think ReadAssist.org is a publisher, or a producer of recorded books. ?
May I have more information about the recent large donation so that I can come up with more than "thank you" in the letter I have been charged with drafting? Also -- shouldn't the donor do the press release?
